How a booking works

Your team spends about a minute on each booking, at the moment you book the job in. Everything else happens between spare. and the customer.

  1. You book a car

    When a customer books their car in, reserve them a spare. car for their drop-off day.

  2. Customer finishes the booking

    They get a link, verify their licence and accept their agreement in the spare. app before they arrive.

  3. Swap at drop-off

    They leave their car with you, photograph the spare. car in the app and unlock it with their phone.

  4. You earn a royalty

    The car comes back when their job is done. The customer returns it clean and refuelled, and you earn a royalty for every booked day.

Who does what

The customer signs their agreement with spare., not with your workshop.

spare. looks after

  • Buying, registering, maintaining and repairing the cars
  • Incident management if anything happens to a car
  • Insurance and the customer agreement
  • Licence checks and identity verification
  • Checking condition at pick-up and return
  • Keyless access, tracking and customer support

Your workshop

  • Books a car when the customer's job is booked in
  • No vehicle inspections and no paperwork
  • If a car ever comes back needing a clean or fuel, you're paid for your time

The customer

  • Finishes the booking and accepts the agreement in the app
  • Photographs the car at pick-up and return
  • Returns the car clean and refuelled, and parks it back at the workshop

Launch partners start with two cars

We place two cars first, then add more as your customers' demand grows. Decisions about your fleet are made together, by spare. and your workshop. Launch partners earn an enhanced royalty for their first six months.
